The Artistic Closets showroom is located in the heart of Vero Beach. We’ve worked with a number of residents of the city to create amazing closets. Vero Beach is home to over 15,000 people, making it a nice medium-sized city that is large enough to have everything you’d need but small enough that it doesn’t feel incredibly crowded. It has several large shopping malls, beachfront property, and sits on the Intracoastal Waterway.
History of Vero Beach
The area around Vero Beach was first settled by Captain Allen W. Estes in 1872. However, the town wouldn’t be chartered for decades. In 1893, the settlement grew larger when the Florida East Coast Railway was laid through the area. Finally, in 1919, the town was large enough for the landowners to push for an official charter. Several years later in 1925, Indian River County was officially formed, and Vero Beach was selected as its county seat.
The town grew again when a Naval Air Station was built in 1942 by the U.S. Navy. This was followed by another growth spurt between 1957 and 1961 thanks to Piper Aircraft, which moved its manufacturing and administrative centers to the city. Today, Piper Aircraft is the biggest private employer in both Vero Beach and Indian River County.
The rest of Vero Beach’s modern industry is centered around citrus fruits, service activities, and tourism.
Things to See and Do
One of the many things people do in Vero Beach is go to the beach, of course. Our three main beaches include Humiston Park, Jaycee Park, and South Beach. Jaycee Park is only 11 minutes away from our showroom, so you can take a quick trip to the beach after picking out closets. South Beach is about the same distance, while Humiston Park is just a bit farther.
Other fun, outdoor activities include fishing, water skiing, kayaking, and other water-related sportsin the Indian River Lagoon. It’s south of us, down by St. Lucie, but that’s only about a 20-minute drive.
There are many historical places to visit in town, too, including the Vero Railroad Station, the Old Palmetto Hotel, McKee Jungle Gardens, and the Old Indian River County Courthouse. Disney’s Vero Beach Resort, one of the Disney Vacation Club resorts, is also located in the city.
Our address in Vero Beach is 2680 US-1. It’s very easy to find us if you’re coming from the north: simply drive down Route 1 until you reach our office. If you’re coming from the south, you can also take Route 1 up to reach us, or you can drive up 605, which runs parallel to Route 1. If you do take 605, you’ll want to turn right onto 20th Place, then turn left onto 8th Avenue. Finally, turn left again onto 21st Street, then take a right onto US-1.
